Palmer Jarvis DDB Vancouver

Palmer Jarvis DDB, JMB Post, Vancouver
ICBC (Insurance Corporation of British Columbia) "Cheque Unfold"

30 Second spot: The spot promoted ICBC's safest driver's "Road Safety Dividend Cheques" campaign.

A large format paper cheque (22"x 9") was rigged into a crumpled paper cube. Using Stop Motion Animation, the cheque was opened frame by frame in sync with sound effects of twisting metal into the end position of a open faced cheque. In postproductions a hero cheque was matched and the composite of asphalt was layered.

Foote Cone Belding (Toronto)
Teddy Bear Productions, GENERAL MILLS Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal

Conceived by Toronto agency FCB (Foote Cone Belding) art director Barry Chemel and writer Jody Overend. This 30-second spot features two animated plug character puppets (created by Jon Craney) - an electrical circuited little boy and girl. Each was created out of electrical wires, plastics, urethane, various light bulbs and a lot of TLC. With 16 different wiring circuits for the set, a hand blown glass refrigerator and a checkered floor which lit up from below, the two characters were electrified through a breakfast morning of bodies sparking, eyes glowing and the lighting flashing. All from the electrifying boost provided by their high voltage Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal.

Ogilvy & Mather
Circle Productions, Telus, "Short Film"

Bowes Productions was faced with the humorous challenge to digress back in time to our roots back in Art College and use some of those pure undeveloped yet bold animation skills and create an amateur looking Clay Animation short film. The result was a simple looking character doubled framed interacting with clay props, phone, clock, numbers, etc Promoting Telus "Value Bundle Pack" campaign.

Glennie Stamnes (Vancouver), Arron Acceptance, "House Build."

Created a very unique 30-second spot using 2-dimentional drawings, which were cut out and glued to foamcore, then traced with felt markers to outline characters, house, van and a boat giving a 3-dimensional look. Each individual cutout was then placed in front of the camera and shot at 24 frames per second.

Media Foundation / Bowes Productions, "The Talking Rainforest"

30-second clay animated commercial, which was created for an international audience to make people aware of our vanishing Pacific Coastal Rain Forests. Produced with Vancouver's Media Foundation the commercial has aired on a variety of North America networks including CBC "THE NATURE OF THINGS" and the PBS program, NOVA.

Bryant Fulton & Shee (Vancouver), London Drugs, "Pill Face".

Using a photograph of a woman's face placed under a sheet of glass, an estimated variety of three thousand prescription pills were placed over top, following the photo to create a very detailed image of the woman's face. The "Pill Face" was then placed under an animation stand and animated in reverse by removing the pills frame by frame, the film was then transferred forward. The end result was pills swirling throughout the 30-second spot eventually forming the woman's face following the final audio slogan "At London Drugs we get to know the people behind the prescription".
